The night I did this venue they were running late. I arrived at 8:20pm when signup was 7:45. Funny enough, only 1 person had signed up before me. By the time they started the show, the lineup was full. The room is small, but I did a head count and they packed 23 people in there. Most of the talent did spoken word, and one of the backup band did a solo number. The room is not used to comedy, which I hope changes. AKold tells me they are there every Thursday, even Thanksgiving and any other holiday that falls on Thursday. The place has been running for 6 years, and I don't understand why the comedy community hasn't discovered this room. Sure, it costs $5, but a lot of open mics charge these days. Parking on the streets is free at night, and the room offers tea. You get 5 to 7 minutes. I had a great experience there. Met some wonderful people. Left inspired. Worth sharing your talent, as well as receiving others. Spiritual fellowship with laughter and word.
