YO. This mic is really good. Free food at the end. The mic's host was very supportive, and the place is WAY nicer than it use to be. Beyond a doubt this place is the next awesome mic.
I like this mic because you can win money (I've never won) and they give you free pizza at the end. Also, the club's booked comics are sometimes hanging out during and after the show.
I agree this is one of the better mics. Susette really makes you feel welcome. But even more importantly she is professional and reliable. It's not a waste of time.
I performed there last night ....not a huge crowd maybe 15-20 people...but the crowd was so responsive you couldnt tell...i would most def come back the host was cool and the free pizza at the end waz great....all in all it was a great open mic ....i will be back....
Suzette needs to come back!! The new host takes up WAY too much time in between comics saying the same hacky "Back in Russia..." jokes. She can take up to 30 min at an 1.5-2 hr open mic. Unacceptable.
I attended this mic tonight and it was my first time doing Stand Up. The room was very supportive and their was a few non comedians audience members. The talent was better than average and most importantly my set went well. At the end they served pizza and the best set won 40- after they throw the bartender 20. The only bad point is they charge 5 plus a one drink minimum so it will cost you 10 bucks to do 5 minutes of comedy. Overall a great place for a beginner.
What other mic gives cash prizes and pizza? The crowd is a mix of regulars and newcomers. No cliquey BS here. Just a supportive room to work out your new material or kill with the old stuff. PS: Suzette is awesome
Awesome Open Mic. Suzete is great fun and the audience is supportive. I came late to the sign up beyond my control and Suzette still allowed me to go up. Responsive audience that will tell you the truth. That's really what open mics are about- trying and trying again.
$5 cover + $5 drink + free pizza???? hhhmmmm really???? I can go to a real italian pizzeria get 2 slices AND a soda for $3.50 and tell the guy behind the counter my jokes for the same reaction i'd get here. I'll stick with my places.

ReplyDeleteThe price is now one drink and $5 for five minutes.
ReplyDeleteThe money gets put into a lottery for the comics at the end.
The list stops at 12 people.

ReplyDeleteMust have came on a off night. Crowd was dead. There was a new host; who was a Russian refugee. She was completely hacktastic and pretty rude.

ReplyDeleteThe Russian broad is rude and not a very good host or comedian but I wouldn't throw her out of bed for eating saltines.
ReplyDeleteBest mic in the city!

ReplyDeleteThis mic rocks consistently. Newcomers and regulars do their thing. The host Suzette is a doll and then you get pizza!!
ReplyDeleteSupportive room, great regular comics and newbies get to break their cherry in great environment. Plus Pizza and Suzette Simon! Enough said.
ReplyDeleteCb's is closing 1/29. See ya Cb's you've been great!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a small chance that CB's is re-opening after they fix it up. I talked to the new owner last night.
