  3. Great mic! Intimate house with real audience response; as opposed to other open mics, with all comics; staring at notes. A bit on the expensive side, but you DO get 10 minutes... so it all evens out. Good food, good host, very supportive. I highly recommend this mic.

  4. good mic, very nice place/staff with vegetarian options on the menu for a fruit loop like me who doesn't eat meat any more. you get 10 full mins with an attentive audience. the only down side is that its on the other side of the planet but was worth the trek the both times I went.

  5. yes, this is a good deal. you can do ten minutes and get food.

but if you are starting out, i strongly recommend you do two 5-minute sets at two different clubs. that is how you improve your jokes.

  6. Great audience great food but the host is kind of a prick. Charges audience members even if you dont get up. Super fun but the host has got to get over himself

  7. Just moved to Queens temporarily so I have returned to this mic after a year. It is probably better than when I used to come. They always have a nice supportive crowd & the host Pedro keeps it moving along well. If you're in the area, this is definitely a good spot to work on new stuff or try out some updated tags on old jokes. You get 10 mins but you must spend $10 of food, drink or dessert.

  8. I've explored this environment quite frequently to say the least, Its dichotomy is such an irony, it defies the consonance of entertainment possibilities. The waltz is an entertainment ironic dichotomy in an unorthodox oblivion. Basically in layman's term, In the most unorthodox of places is where we find various congruence of open mic completeness. To summarize the waltz, 'Analogically' imagine being stranded on an island and discovering gold. This is not a statement of condescension, rather it's exploring the situational dichotomy and ironic nature of the beast. Location is not conducive quality or quantity, what equates quality is collective individuality...!

Long Live Waltz Astoria, A magnificent competitor excluded in luxury, an experience your naivety will perish in a false sense of folly.

  9. The above entirely inane effort at literate writing is utterly absurd.

  10. I recommend doing as much as you can instead of spending 10 dollars and going all the way in astoria. If it was a closer location, only 5. It would be sooooooo worth it. But you're probably be better off somewherecloser, unless you want this one to be the last mic you do for the evening
