The Roundhouse has cut this to the first Thursday of the month. They also have very small crowds, unless comics bring a lot of people. Usually 10-20 comics per night, 5 minute sets. Must email Bert Borth in advance to go up.
Extremely disappointing open mic. Very small crowds, 15 or so comics who do the same 5 minutes every time they are up. Terrible beer, awful food, expensive and no crowds make it the bottom of my list.
The only plus is Bert Borth, the guy who runs the room, is a good guy.
I've only done this room a couple of times and it offers a great atmosphere. One of the few places that offer a stage that is actually higher than the audience. All of the times I've been there the audience has been mixed with comics and attendees. Bert does a great job of organizing the show and gives it a real professional vibe.
