I host this mic sometimes and here is some new about the mic info: Must be 21 and have ID. Free to perform and free to watch. Just order something from the bar and tip please. The bar is open to the public so there are usually audience members. Follow @BarcelonaBarNYC on Instagram and watch for their story announcing who is hosting and who to message about a spot. It will either be @DarrylBComedy or @TalkingSchmidt. Comics get 3-5 minutes depending on how many sign up. The mic must be over by 5pm and you must message to get a spot.
There is no stage… They have you do your set in the corner of the bar with a mic that barely works. It’s a late thirties to 40 year old crowd and most of the people in the crowd are focused on playing darts in the back. The host is usually late & most of the old comics are apologizing for their jokes like they’re going to get canceled after. If you’re an up & coming comedian just go somewhere else, this open mic is just to get you to buy a drink.
