  1. Tough mic! Expect to pay $5 and get a drink at the bar, though sometimes it may only be drink.

  2. All laughing Buddha open mics are absolute ripoffs and you the already broke comic having spent 10 bucks to get there... are going to wind up spending about 20 bucks to do 5 minutes.
When they fit you in around their little click which strongly resembles Eastern European Mafia.
They continue to claim an association with Janeane Garofalo. Which simply does not exist
as reviews of Eastville Comedy Club will show
    Hundreds asking where is JG
. Well she's probably in Portland OR on the Family Estate in Texas but she definitely ain't performing at Eastville comedy club
no matter what they tell you and no matter what Laughing Buddha blows up your ass

But the lower scumbaggery is charging cover plus a charge plus an item to perform
Ensuring the hustlers and the Daddy's credit card set are put through the rigors and no one gets a successful career through laughing Buddha. That's why the Buddha's laughing.
Personally responsible for destroying New York comedy. Quite an honor

    1. Why do you lie? Laughing Buddah does charge a cover and a drink and do many other open mics around NY… I’ve never paid $20 for an LBC mic and I doubt that you have….”personally responsible for destroying New York comedy.” Lmfao! Yeah the Comedy Cellar is really suffering because of LBC… you are actually a hilarious comedy writer! Oh wait that rant was serious…. never mind.

  3. This was a great open mic. I went about a month ago and Janeane Garofalo was playing later that night. Supportive crowd, lots of people laughing. At least one of the pro comics who was on in the later show with Janeane was attending the open mic.

This one was so good I would come back to NYC just to do this mic. I think sets were 6 or 7 minutes that night. I have not been to many mics yet, but this was my favorite so far!

A friend watching said he could never understand any comics' names because the MCs, trying to be upbeat, were constantly shouting into the microphone.
