  1. Open mic at Paradise Lounge has been going on seven years. All genres are welcome. Talent gets three songs or 15 minutes. There are no language restrictions (saying swear words), but don’t get raunchy (subject matter). Say f*ck but don’t talking about f*cking. Mostly this room attracts musicians. Signup is first come first choice. All this is brought to you by the makers of Pandy, a wonderful host and producer of this open mic, who shares the stage with a co-host, whose name, unfortunately, I did not get.
The business is a full bar, and it shares a large parking lot with other businesses. Paradise Lounge serves snacks like fries, chicken tenders, sliders and wings. There is no stage. Two mics are set up in one corner. Six TVs were playing, and the whole room seats close to 50. Signup is at 7pm and the room is supposed to start at 7:30pm with the host and co-host opening with three songs then at 7:45pm, talent from the signup sheet are called.
There were 27 people in the room by 7:45pm. A late start didn’t get the signed talent up till 8pm. The TVs are left on but muted. I counted 40 people in the room when the first signup went on stage. I arrived at 6:55pm and got the second spot. The sixth spot was also available; otherwise, the sheet was full from regulars already here. A strong recommendation: come earlier than I did.
Guys, this is a good room. Pandy is a good producer, and together, the two hosts keep the room active. The amount of stage time is a healthy sum, and the audience is pretty good about listening. Yes, language is okay, but I chose to stay clean to avoid risqué material. This room attracts music mostly, and I wanted to leave a positive mark, hoping to encourage more standup in the room.
