  1. I have already reviewed Stone Way’s open mic on Tuesdays, so go to that review for the details. It is the same format as Thursday. But I will give you the dynamics of its Thursday open mic, which I did with a friend.
Intending to do another mic that Thursday, upon learning it had been canceled, we bee-lined it to Stone Way, arriving there at 7:30pm. The room had started at 7pm, going to 10pm. We signed up numbers 23 and 24, knowing we might not get stage time. The room was completely packed with people, some even having to stand because every seat was taken. It was so crowded, my friend and I had to sit in a separate part of the café and could not see the talent, but could hear the music and singing. Mostly, this room attracts musicians, but we saw one other comedian go up, and as the evening went on, we knew we were going to get stage time. I was told talent gets five minutes, but based on the amount of time remaining in the evening, the host actually gave me close to eight minutes, as was given to my friend as well.
Attendance went down as the evening progressed, 29 people by 9:15pm, which allowed the two of us to move into the room and get a table. I went up close to 9:30pm and did my eight, then my friend did her eight. One more musician after that and the night was over.
Guys, I remember this room on Tuesday and thought it was very good, even though attendance was not high. This night, with the room much more filled, both of us rocked the stage. Plenty of laughs. Of course, the more people, the more likely you’re going to get laughs. So, of the two nights, Thursday is the better night to go, solely because it’s a more happening night. However, if Tuesday is your only free night to perform, this room deserves consideration. And on Tuesday, you may very well receive additional stage time, which can matter a lot.
Maybe don't compromise at all. Do both nights.
