  1. Library Coffeehouse was a very lax room to do, and not in a bad way. By 7:10, 3 people had already signed up. In the end, there were only 9 or 10 performers. I was 5th or 6th.
No emcee that night. The first comedian had done the room before, and I think was asked to start the open mic. But after that, each talent was expected to announce the name of the next person.
Also, there was no light. I was told it was 2 songs or 6 to 7 minutes, depending on number of signups. I know a couple of the talent went a little over their time, but without a light, what was there to stop them? But for only 10 signups, a couple people going over doesn't make a monumental difference.
There were 24 peeps in the audience, most of whom actually paid attention to talent performing. No stage, and the mic wasn't even in a corner of the room. Audience members could very well be sitting behind you. But the majority sit before the mic.
Language is acceptable. It is a coffeehouse, and some people were there to study or write, but as long as there are no children, let the expletives fly.
Overall, the room is worth doing. Audience was very receptive.
Parking may be a bit of a pill, but if you drive around long enough, a spot opens up.
