It's laundromat, for real. You perform in the isle in the middle of the place. There will be about 5 other comics to perform to. Everyone else doesn't speak english. Little kids run around and don't pay attention. The host brings a mic, mic stand, and a guitar amp, resting on one of the washers. It is what it is. Do brand new jokes. Don't hurt yourself doing A material. Christy Murphy used to run a laundromat show in silverlake years ago and it had an actual following, and tv crews would show up, even last comic standing filmed an episode there. I guess the novelty of a comedy show in a laundromat has worn off. This one is just a lonely open mic. There are worse places to do. - Brett Gilbert
Yeah, I emailed Mishel Livio and got no response. Since it's close to home, I went to check it out anyway, and the guy who owns the laundromat says it's no more.
garbage

ReplyDeleteI don't think this is happening anymore. I went 1-8-12 and no show.
