Get there early. There are always more comics than they can put up, so you'll want to be sure you're there before 8, as that's when they take the list to make cuts. No guarantee you'll get onstage, obviously. But there is almost always a large crowd of genuine, real-deal audience (not just other comics), so it's worth the effort.
