  1. I emailed her and got no response but scrambled to get there by 645, only to find out that it want actually starting until 8. if you consider yourself a busy person, you might want to do one republic instead of this one

  2. I can appreciate "Anonymous's" dedication to the craft, 95% of comics could take a page out of this persons book and show up on time to show how much they do care. HOWEVER, this mic just started and is just developing a personality. And it is in fact a fun loving, and creatively encouraging room. I have been to all, and can say that this mic is the open mic that has changed my mind about mics. I will be at every one, because it is so much fun. It starts at 7pm and is always a great time.- kip

  3. The ONLY thing about this show that I don't like is Kip, who is at EVERY one and ALWAYS has a great time.

If I had to describe Kip in twelve words or less, I would say: Friendly and giving and talented and nice and funny and good at" which would be a TOTAL WASTE of my 12 words. Two of those words mean the same thing and FIVE of those words are "AND."

Kelly, on the other hand, is a different person all together. Neither she nor he are the same person as each other, not that that's a compliment. But, things being as they are, that's good enough for me.

  4. I've been to this mic 3 times...I give it 4 out of 5 stars...unlike a lot of mics I've been to, many of the comics stick around and support. Also, the host basically gives you up to 10 minutes if you want, on the stipulation that, in her words "you're not just dicking around and killing time, man". A few people did 10 mins, most did less. Also, I didn't hate the drink minimum so much, cause the bar had great specials and good service...3 dollar Rolling Rock drafts last time I was there.

My only gripe is that it says 6:45 sign-up and 7:00 start...and all the 3 times, the mic has actually started at 7:30 or slightly later.

I definitely recommend this mic...I just recommend getting there more like 7:15 to sign up, or else you'll be waiting around awhile.

  5. Just went to this mic for the first time. It felt more like a show than a mic - real audience that were attentive and fun to perform in front of. One thing that really stood out: the host came up to me afterwards, shook my hand, and thanked me for coming. This room has a great vibe and I'll definitely be going back.

  6. I enjoyed this Mic a lot. Attentive audience. My only issue is that with long day light hours, they didn't put the spotlight on until the third comic - which was distracting. You always have to do comedy in the DARK! But otherwise, Kelly is super duper nice and funny and I'll be back again soon.

  7. Attended this mic yesterday for the first time. There were 30+ comics, and names were drawn by lottery, so it was fair and no 'favorites' were played. The host moved things along quickly and did a good job of maximizing everyones stage time, especially considering the large turnout. Audience (mostly comics, with a few bar patrons) was very supportive. All in all, I would rank it among the best mics out there.

  8. Just did this mic and the MC talked over my set on an offstage microphone to reprimand me for picking up and putting down the mic stand. I was bombing at the time and that's for me to do and take in and she goes and insults me while I'm on stage, talking over one of my jokes to belittle a comic for her own benefit. Completely unprofessional and completely irresponsible for an MC to do at an open mic. I get that I was bombing hard but the MC has no place talking over comics, ever.

When I got off stage instead of encouraging support she used the time between comics to reprimand me again. I bought enough drinks to buy a new mic stand for that club. furthermore I've been on stage enough to know picking up and setting down a mic stand isn't going to fucking damage it.

She did no time on the mic herself and I believe she has little time on stage doing comedy or she would know that's its totally fucked up to interrupt a comic in the middle of a bit and talk over him like that.

    Get it together, fucking please.

  9. So glad this mic is back on. Missed it while it was on hold in October...fast-paced and lively...and (more often than not) a very supportive room. The $3 beers don't hurt either...wtf is up with mics charging 5 bucks PLUS a drink min. too? Cheers to mics like this - decent rooms and reasonabley priced.

    1. Probably because it's a little pricey to book. I'll be sure to check out the mic though and post feedback. As anonymous of course.
