  1. Just did this room tonight - not bad at all! Jeff's a really great host and while the crowd could be better, every comic needs experience with rough crowds. Comics get five minutes and an opportunity to see a ton of funny people perform. I'll be going back.

  2. Rough crowd is a good summary, but I like it rough! Tons of funny comics, good crowd, but the crowd is late coming and loud. 90% of the audience goes outside as they're either comedians who have already gone up or friends of comedians. The 10% inside is also talkative and semi attentive. You have to work hard to get/keep their attention. Great place to train.

  4. I've been to most if not all the mics in the Chicagoland area and this is a great one! As mentioned above, Jeff is a great host and keeps the crowd going. Yes the random patrons do show up sometimes and can get a little rough but it's nothing serious and as comics you need to be able to handle a little rough audience. Again, it still a solid mic and it runs late on Tuesdays so it's great for those who like to get a couple sets in at other places beforehand. Check it out if you haven't already done so!

  5. I went to this last night, and had a really fun time. It's being run by PK now, who really kept the energy up for all her comics, and kept the room light and fun. If it's always like how it was last night, then let me show some love. I think it's perfect for newbies- and also for more experienced comics who want an honest reaction from the crowd.

  6. I was at Weeds on May 17th too and it was hosted by PK. I personally had a blast there! PK's an awesome hostess and is hysterically funny...especially after she's had a couple of cocktails. There were alot of newbies there and the crowd was welcoming and supportive, often times applauding for someone who said it was their first time and applauded to encourage people who messed up or lost their nerve on stage. Time varies depending on how many comics sign up. I think we got about 6 minutes or so. I think it's also a great place for people who've been "out there" a while and want to try new stuff or just relax and have a good time. I loved the place! I found Weeds fun and casual.-Some places are "too cool" or "too hip" to be fun anymore If Weeds isnt a open mic for the "cool people"...that's fine with me, that could be part of the appeal. Would definitely go back.

  7. Cant Say enough good things about WEEDs. The owner Jonny is the best. I am one of the loud patrons. I enjoy checking out Tuesday open Mic It's always a great time. If new comics cant take WEEDs get out of the bushes.

  10. Weeds is great. The bartenders are awesome and the show is fun. It's a great place to work out. The host is cool and professional and takes the time to meet with you, especially if you are new to the scene. This place is a great find for open Mic comedy in the heart of the city.

  12. This mic is back, and with the weather getting nice should be pretty awesome. And every once and a while they have a guy who will film your set.
