  1. the best spot on the southside. The room is so raw and welcoming to performers and audience. Thursdays they have the best improv open mic on the south side that has been going for 6 years.

  2. Well the above comment was obviously written by the host because it's for kids who don't have any friends and need a place to act like the creeps they are when alone

  3. Right now, this open mic consists mainly of musicians and poets because I don't think a lot of comics know about this place or can get there from where they live. They still let you do comedy if you want and the crowd is very welcoming and friendly. You get to do up to ten minutes. Nearly everyone in the audience (mainly consisting of people in their 20's) knows each other. They sit, listen, and only chime in when you ask them to.

  4. Tried this open mic for the first time recently. It actually starts at 10 and not 9. It's a random drawing system, so the order isn't set. There must not be many comics, as the guy "Chico" assumed I wanted to do music. The best part is the warm and open crowd. They are very accepting of all performers. The stage is in an awkward room that feels like your 5th grade music classroom. You'll also see many people do things you're not use to, like playing the accordion, or doing Disney created songs. If you're trying stuff for the first time, or still trying to get over nervousness I would highly recommend this room.
