  1. Good crowd of other open mic comedians. The list ended with 10 but they let everyone up which was totally cool. Its open to music as well but only one musician was there that evening.

  2. A good room! Comedians are supportive and no cover charge! But you should buy something to support the business!

  3. Great open mic. Most of the comics were very social which is different compared to most of the open mics I have been to. They are very supportive but make sure you have 5 minutes worth of material because the comics won't let you bail out early. The stage is nice and the mic is really LOUD.

  4. It's all comedians. I don't think I've ever seen a musician go up. It can be a cold room. The fri open mic here is the same way for some reason. Comics are respectful to each other but typically don't laugh here. It's a good stage to say brand new jokes to living bodies. If you get a snicker or two, it prob means applause break at a real gig. Give it a whirl. - Brett Gilbert

  5. The first time I went here more than a year ago there were two musicians. As Brett stated, now there are usually none. I think that this place's degree of apathy is tolerated only by comics. MOST L.A. open mics have an atmosphere of indifference, but at this place it's that usual apathy X 500. The last time I performed here 4 of the 12 people who were present were looking at me as I took the stage. As I looked down during my first sentence for a few seconds then looked up I noticed that 1 person was paying attention. In some ways it was liberating, and I actually got some laughs near the end because I knew in advance that absolutely no one gave a shit (having performed here a few times before). But if making eye contact with only one person or even no one when there is a room full of people isn't quite your thing you might want to avoid this place.

    1. One of the worst hours and a half of so called comedy I have ever seen. I think maybe there were three funny people out of thirty. The unfunny ones just strung along cuss words, misogyny, homophobia, hatred of the opposite sex, penis comments, vagina comments, ass comments (what? no boob comments?), chicago, dc, new york, los angeles, how you never get laid, why you never get laid, what you do when you don't get laid and then you wondered why no one wants to have sex with you. Here is a big hint: BECAUSE YOU CAN'T WRITE A DECENT JOKE AND THEREFORE ARE NOT FUNNY - THAT'S WHY YOU CAN'T GET LAID. The three funny ones were the only ones who worked the room and paid attention to who was in their audience. And they cared enough to write down their material beforehand. It worked. As your homework, please listen to some decent comics - like Chris Rock and Louis C.K. and study their timing and style. Open mic is not therapy, it is to entertain people. THAT IS YOUR JOB - TO ENTERTAIN PEOPLE AND MAKE THEM LAUGH. Doh. ( Mr. MC - seriously teach these kids a thing or two. You are funny. But these other kids, no.)
